Refund Policy

Last updated: April 2, 2026
This Refund Policy applies to all events purchased through the SmallHappen platform (the “Service”). By purchasing tickets through SmallHappen, you agree to the terms of this policy.

Agreement to Refund Policy

By purchasing a ticket through SmallHappen, you acknowledge and agree to the Organizer’s refund policy as stated on the event page. You understand that all refund, cancellation, and rescheduling obligations rest solely with the Organizer, and SmallHappen is not responsible for issuing refunds.

Who Handles Refunds

SmallHappen is a platform that connects event organizers (“Organizers”) with attendees.
Organizers are solely responsible for:
  • Event cancellations or postponements
  • Setting ticket prices and refund policies
  • Issuing any refunds to attendees
SmallHappen does not provide refunds directly but may assist in facilitating communication between attendees and Organizers.

Refund Eligibility

Refund eligibility is determined entirely by the Organizer’s stated policy, which is displayed on the event page.
Refunds may be granted in cases such as:
  • Event cancellation by the Organizer
  • Event postponement (subject to Organizer’s policy)
  • Errors in ticketing or payment processing
Important: Attendance issues, changes in personal schedule, or dissatisfaction with the event are generally not covered unless the Organizer’s policy states otherwise.

Fees and Non-Refundable Charges

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, or explicitly stated by the Organizer, the following fees are non-refundable, even if a refund is issued for the ticket price:
  • Payment processing fees (including fees charged by Stripe or other payment providers)
  • Any applicable taxes on payment processing fees (e.g., VAT)
  • SmallHappen platform service fees
  • Any applicable taxes on platform fees (e.g., VAT)
These fees are retained to cover transaction costs and platform services and are not returned to attendees in the event of a refund.

Exception — Event Cancellation or Legal Requirement:

In cases where:
  • An event is canceled by the Organizer, or
  • A full refund is required under applicable consumer protection laws,
SmallHappen or the Organizer may, at their discretion or where required, refund some or all of the fees described above.
Any such refunds will be processed according to applicable laws, payment provider rules, and SmallHappen’s internal policies at the time of the refund.

How to Request a Refund

  • Contact the Organizer directly using the contact information provided on the event page.
  • Provide your ticket information, proof of purchase, and reason for refund.
  • Follow any instructions provided by the Organizer.
SmallHappen may provide support in contacting the Organizer, but cannot guarantee that refunds will be issued.

Payment Processor and Chargebacks

Payments are processed through third-party providers, including Stripe.
  • Refunds are handled by the Organizer and processed via the same payment method used for purchase.
  • If you initiate a chargeback or dispute through your payment provider, the Organizer is responsible for resolving it.
  • SmallHappen may provide transaction information to support dispute resolution but is not responsible for resolving disputes or issuing refunds.

Event Changes

Organizers may cancel or reschedule events. In such cases:
  • Organizers are responsible for notifying attendees promptly.
  • Refunds or ticket transfers are handled according to the Organizer’s policy.
  • SmallHappen is not liable for losses, travel costs, or other expenses incurred due to event changes.

No Platform Liability

By purchasing tickets through SmallHappen, you acknowledge:
  • SmallHappen is a technology platform, not the event provider.
  • All refund and ticketing obligations rest with the Organizer.
  • SmallHappen does not guarantee ticket availability, event quality, or refund issuance.

Updates to this Policy

SmallHappen may update this Refund Policy at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
